- There is never a charge to attend a band performance. We support an average of 50 community, civic, veteran, and military events every year and insist that the band’s music is accessible to everyone!

The youngest band member is 12 years old. The oldest is 96! -
The band boasts a diverse membership made up of students, mechanics, teachers, professional musicians, accountants, health care professionals, bankers, IRS agents, dentists, handymen, inventory specialists, CPAs, retired military, machinists, loan officers, law enforcement officers, ministers, retired band directors, purchasing agents, school administrators, business owners, environmentalists, geologists, and homemakers! -
Three generations of one family are represented in the band. Grandpa plays flute, son and grandson play trumpet! -
Annually, our band members donate more than 10,500 combined volunteer hours for the success of our programs! -
Countless thousands of people hear the band each and every year. Whether it’s the 15,000+ that attend the annual Veterans Day parade, or the 5,000 soldiers that are slated to attend the Army Recruiting Command Change of Command ceremony this summer, or the 138 valley soldiers at the 1106th AVCRAD deployment and flag casing ceremony; or the senior citizens at San Joaquin Gardens Ice Cream Social, or the children of the troops at the HHC 40th Combat Aviation Brigade’s Family Christmas Party, or those watching a rebroadcast of the band’s performance on television, all are sure to agree that the Sounds of Freedom Military Concert Band is truly a valley treasure.
